In this week's readings, we focused on the creating of websites and creating the proper layout for either businesses or professionals. Some tools used in creating a good layout involve the creating of digital text that is engaging and easy to read. "By analyzing their own engagement and comprehension of texts, students then recognize how specific aspects of lay, white space, font, and images, as well as grammar and spelling, can enhance engagement and comprehension" (Understanding and Creating Digital Text). Engagement is the name of the game here, engagement generates views and clicks, it creates buzz around content so grabbing someone's attention either through layout or font is imperative. Techniques such as Easy Access homepages, Easy to read Page layouts, and Reliability all play a role in engagement. Engagement keeps readers wanting more, and demands quality from content providers.
